   People tell me I have the gift of teaching. I love to study God’s word in detal with a deep passion for word study and enjoy people learning something new about God’s word. However, when I do research for study material, I like to use semons and other resources from godly pasters whom I enjoy listening. Is it wrong for me to use content of pater’s semons to teach others?

   First, I would like to take the time to thank you for submitting this question, and the honesty that it mandates in the consideration it deserves concerning the subject of teaching and other teachers input. I normally don’t utilize pastors as a reference, as God’s Word should be our final reference. However, we all stand on the shoulders of giants – great men of faith and leading, and there are certain teachers which I utilize which produce clear proof of their teaching as compared to a lot of the storytelling presentations that are meant to impassion the emotions.

   It is God’s desire to communicate through our “minds”, and therefore utilizing pastors as resources concerning a particular teaching wherein they have submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit and communicating something previously unseen is a common trait to us all who wish to rightly divide the word of God.

   I would simply admonish you to emulate teachers at have widthstood the annals of time to show that there subject matter was something truly brought based upon the Holy Spirit, as compared to flowery stories wherein many use the Scriptures as props only to make their own point – this should be avoided it every cost.

   I will submit a list of those individuals that I’ve spent over 40 years studying and testing, wherein I feel confident I could suggest those to others.
