Introduction
There are passages in the Bible in which God has constructed in such a simple way, whereas by breaking down the particular elements in a rudimentary manner, laying one upon another, a simple progression is obvious, wherein understanding God’s Will concerning the statements is easy to grasp. The following is a good example of this blessing.
2 Chronicles 7:14
“if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
A. Who; those who are “called by my name” = Christ-ian (-ian = “follower of”), if they:
1. Humble yourself
2. Pray
3. Seek God’s face
4. Turn from sinful patterns, then
B. God will respond by blessing the survival of those who are “called by His name” if they follow these 4 steps.
Concerning God’s expectation of his followers, those which have committed faith in Him according to His leadership, wherein God holds the rule over their lives, their behavior should reflect this servitude. The following Scriptures display God’s desires for the conduct of His children.
Micah 6:8
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God“
A. “What is good” and “required” by God of His people (this passage is to God’s people) is to:
1. do (the behavior of) justice
2. love kindness (which is to continually seek after mercy, grace, & loyalty)
3. Live a humble life
4. With God by following His direction, as opposed to our own.
Hebrews 12:1
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
- According to, and in response to the lives and behaviors (examples) of faith of prior believers:
A. Stop the pattern of habitual sin, whereby with usage becomes more powerful, gaining control,
B. Consistently, maintain the Christian walk of obedience through suffering based upon faith, as Christ did, being our example suffered short-term loss(immediate gratification), for the consideration of long-term spiritual gains (that of the honor God would show him for his obedience).
(Christ lived in faith, the Greek words for “author” and “finisher” means that He – Jesus is the original one to have successfully done it, and did it completely. The word “our,” is not in the original text, it was only assumed by the interpreters – incorrectly ~ Christ displayed what He demanded of us, pouring Himself out and becoming a man, divine in His essence, human in His attributes. Faith only has an opportunity when there is need, Christ lived in faith because He became in “all points a man” ~ Hebrews 4:15. Romans 12:1-2
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
A.Paul states that in consideration of the mercies that he had presented in the 1st 11 chapters of this epistle, that the believer should:
1. Separate (sanctify unto God) themselves, giving themselves wholly to God, which is
2. Their reasonable (rational thinking ~ displaying “worth-ship”) duty as servants of God, and
3. Are to maintain a separate (sanctified from the world) life apart from this sinful world, and
4. Become changed according to the rethinking (regeneration) taking place according to the
indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and by dwelling upon God’s engrafted Word (Jam. 1:21), and
5. Thereby display, a separated life where good is present to witness to all, which is
6. God’s reasonable demand upon our life in fulfilling his will.

Thank you very much for your kind words.
As one that attempts to teach God’s Word based solely upon the grace of of God in choosing to open my eyes in understanding the insights that the Holy Spirit has given to men in past ages, as well as those few insights of my own; there is nothing that touches my heart more than to hear that there’s someone out there that validates the gratitude that I feel.
Sometimes, life as a believer seems like you’re the only one walking across to hot dry desert, wherein God blesses you with oasis of blessing; and in the experience you become blessed not only in growing faith based upon what is in God’s Word, but in seeing others that feed on the same blessing.
I’m not a poet, and as you can tell painting word pictures is not my calling.
Yet I am reminded of a Scripture.
“Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.” (Deuteronomy 33:25 KJV).
I remember when this Scripture seem so unusual to me, until a wise man explained it in his writings.
The peak of the mountain is in understanding that God will give us enough strength on a daily basis to do what He is called us to do, hence “as thy days, so shall thy strength be.”
He has not promised strength for tomorrow, any more than He promised the Israelites manna for the next day.
In both cases the reason why God does not do so; is knowing human nature we would start to focus on the manna, or on the strength; rather than the provider, which is God.
If you want your people to stay depended upon you based upon faith, understanding human nature, you supply them day by day, hence again the Lord’s prayer’ “give us this day.”
Yet it is the first part of this passage which is the foundation where in the mountain settles itself.
You see sandals that had iron on the bottom, like nails; were made for individuals that lived in extreme environments, like the mountains, or warriors.
Yet, the most proficient warriors had special sandals, that had iron nails on the bottom for traction and grip, yet over the top of the foot they were enshroud in brass to protect them from their enemies weaponry.
You see the essence of this Scripture is those that are guaranteed by God to have the strength to make it through those days, day by day, are those that are warriors and pilgrims in a world that is not their home.
They are soldiers as Paul speaks about concerning spiritual gifts, prepared to fight for the cause of their King. You when I have the blessing of not only being children of the King, but the responsibility of being his ambassadors and warriors.
Not fighting based upon our own pride, when we are insulted by the sin and degradation of our opponents.
But soldiers as Paul says, fully equipped; yet standing.
Why does Paul repeat this word – stand.
The reason why is that an impetuous naïve new warrior may jump in the battle before his commander gives the order.
It is the wisdom to wait for the order from your commander that you are willing to stand, even as the enemy approaches, waiting patiently on the order of your commander of when to move.
You and I must live by faith daily, seizing those opportunities that God has presented to us, yet not motivated to take on battles we have not been assigned to, wasting our energy based upon those times that he has not chosen – in the right war but, located in the wrong Valley, fighting the wrong battle.
This is the wisdom of the seasoned warrior, being fully prepared for the work of the ministry, yet patiently waiting for the command, our Lord, Savior and King.
This is the kind of faith that is grown based upon God’s Word, and not solely on experience.
May we daily keep our eyes and hearts focused upon our commander, as the evil day approaches.
